Specialty Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses are large-diameter gas permeable (GP) contact lenses designed to vault the entire cornea and land on the sclera.

Underneath the lens is a fluid-filled reservoir that helps with lens stability, hydration, and vision. 

​

Scleral lenses are indicated for those diagnosed with corneal irregularities (ex. keratoconus, corneal ectasias), severe dry eye syndrome, and cases when glasses or conventional contact lenses are not successful.
